Flynn Collins scored for the Cadets (2-3-1) on an asssist by Gavin Sanchez in second half. Marmion keeper Matt Fletcher made 3 saves against the North Stars (1-4-0).

Neuqua Valley 1, Bartlett 0
Jeremy Stern scored on an assist from Adrian Machado for the Wildcats (3-2) with keeper Andrew Fadanelli making 2 saves in Neuqua's second shutout of the season, while Justin Busch made 7 saves for Bartlett.

Benet 1, Naperville North 0
Kyle Kenagy scored on a cross from Michael Rindler in the win for Benet (4-1-0) over Naperville North (2-1-1). Redwings keeper Konrad Bayer made two saves in the team's first shutout of the season.

Naperville Central 3, Waubonsie Valley 0
The Redhawks (4-0-1) got goals from Jay Tegge, Jordi Heeneman, and Noah Hey, and assists from David Murphy, Sam Reskala, and Daniel Poole, as keeper Mike Senese made 5 saves in Central's third shutout of the year. Waubonsie Valley fell to 2-2-0 on the year.

Friday, Sept. 6

Marmion 3, WW South 0
Flynn Collins had a goal and an assist for the Cadets (1-3-1), with Nick Grant and Gavin Sanchez also scoring in the win. GK Matt Fletcher assisted on Collins' goal and Jack Maley had the helper on Sanchez's score. Fletcher finished with 5 saves on the day.

Lyons Township 4, Leyden 1
Matt Murphy had two goals and the Lions (2-0-2) got goals from Harry Hilling and Shunsuke Fujii in the win over Leyden (1-3-1).

 

Thursday, Sept. 5

Benet Academy 3, Neuqua Valley 2
Sam Knapke, Daniel Morefield and Kyle Kenagy scored goals for the Redwings (3-1), who improved to 2-0 in Best of the West pool play.

Metea Valley 1, Plainfield Central 1
Dakota Rowsey scored for Metea Valley on a feed from Jake Celinski and Tim Howard had 3 saves in net for the Mustangs (1-1-1).

Downers Grove North 2, St. Francis 2
Jake Stevenson had a goal and an assist for DG North and Andrew Zea also scored for the Trojans.

West Aurora 1, Oswego 1
Jose Oropeza scored for West Aurora (1-0-2).

Naperville Central 2, Sandburg 0
The Redhawks (3-0-1) got a goal from Sam Reskala on a Ben Border assist and an unassisted goal by Drake Swope in the win. Mike Senese was in net for the Redhawks' second shutout of the year.


Tuesday, Sept. 3

Wheaton Academy 7, Montini 0
Wheaton Academy defeated Montini Catholic by the score of 7-0 on Tuesday night to open the year 1-0. The Warriors were led by Ty Seager with 2 goals and Sam Hardy with 2 assists, with goals also coming from Lucas Hoepner, Grant Rougas, Reid Culberson, Matthew Ruff, and Kevin Esposito. Michael Carver, Parker Setran, and Hunter Finnegan also assisted on goals, while keepers Joe Cantey and Drew Sezonov combined for the shutout.

Buffalo Grove 2, St. Francis 0
The Bison (1-1-1) topped the Spartans (0-2) on goals by Todor Dimitrov and Drew Brauner and assists from Pat Tucharski and Daniel Ramirez.

Leyden 2, Proviso East 1
Albert Arabik scored off a Christian Hernandez assist for Leyden (1-1-1) and Alfredo Recendez made two saves in the shootout for the Eagles.

Hersey 7, Brother Rice 0
Mike Kaczor had 3 goals and 2 assists, John Cappuccitti had 3 goals and 1 assist, and Tim Griffin added a goal for the Huskies (2-0).

Barrington 2, Marmion 0
The Broncos (4-0) got goals from Connor Hennelly and Griffin Claes and assists from David Conrad and Jonathan Wilson. Keepers Pat Deroche and Jaime Diaz shared Barrington's third shutout of the year.

Oak Park and River Forest 1, St. Ignatius 1
Evan Kindler scored off a Mavin Gill assist for OPRF (1-0-2).

Plainfield North 8, Riverside-Brookfield 1
Austin Collier and Matt Farley netted 2 goals apiece and Garrett Gathman had 3 assists in the win for the Tigers (4-0-0).
